Getting a new smartphone?

With the holidays right around the corner, there will be great deals on all the newer smartphones. This might be a great time to upgrade yours for your small business. But, what do you do with the old one? The Federal Trade Commission suggests you should “backup your data, remove the SIM and SD cards, erase your personal information, and verify that your personal info was deleted” prior to either trading in your phone or getting rid of it.

Upgrading to any new device requires the previous device to be properly protected from exposing business data. By doing the suggested steps from the FTC, you are minimizing the chances of your confidential data from being exposed to those who are not authorized to access it.
