KnowBe4, the world’s largest security awareness training and simulated phishing platform, has reported an increase in HR driven phishing scams. They are reporting that the most popular current scam is based around “Codes of Conduct & Employee Policies”. Phishing emails are one of the many ways cybercriminals try to infiltrate a business network, because of this the business needs to be prepared.
How can your business prepare for these types of phishing scams? The answer is through training and awareness. It is all the more important to train and raise the awareness of your employees with these specific types of phishing scams. Emails coming from HR are usually important and employees trust that the emails are legitimate. Training employees to look for all the warning signs in a phishing email and doing this regularly can help prevent a phishing email from becoming something worse.
