A recent survey done by Broadband Genie shows that an astounding 86% of those polled have never updated their routers. A whopping 82% have not changed the default admin account password and 69% have not changed the WiFi password.

For many small businesses, the router is the entry and exit point to the internet. Routers, like computers and cell phones, receive updates for things like security. For most routers, these updates must be done manually as current devices lack the ability for automated updates. It is also important to change admin passwords and WiFi passwords on all routers as a simple google search will show results for the default passwords of most routers. These are some quick things a small business can do to better protect themselves against cybersecurity threats.
