The new Windows 11 arrival day has been announced. Microsoft has announced that on October 5, 2021 the free upgrade to Windows 11 will start to roll out to eligible Windows 10 devices and new PCs with Windows pre-loaded will start to ship with Windows 11. We have talked about the new Windows 11 update a couple of times, but with any new Operating System, it is important to be ready for the new changes coming.
Getting ready for Windows 11

We suggested taking a methodical approach and to identify if you will have any software or hardware compatibility issues early. This way you can minimize any potential compatibility issues. This is now the time to verify if your software load out will be compatible with Windows 11. You can do this by reaching out to the software manufacturer. It is also recommended to verify if you will have any hardware compatibility issues as well. Some hardware devices may never be compatible and it is important to identify this early on, allowing you to decide if you keep the hardware or upgrade to a version that will work with Windows 11.
Windows 11 update time
Once Windows 11 is released, it will be important to install it on a few devices at a time. This is done to minimize any downtime for your small business. So prior to installing Windows 11 on all of your devices, it is recommended to pick a few test devices to ensure compatibility. Once you can verify it works with your technology setup, you can then more quickly update the rest of your devices.
Be on the lookout
We also recently wrote about fake Windows 11 update links and offers. Be on the lookout for phishing emails offering the update, especially ones asking you to confirm by clicking on a link or by opening an attachment. We have already seen reports of hundreds of computers being infected by a malicious fake Windows 11 installer. This is expected to continue the closer we get to the release of Windows 11.
