2019, the year of data leaks

As we continue to talk about data privacy during Data Privacy Month, it is important to know just how much data was exposed in 2019. According to Risk Based Security, over 15.1 billion data records were exposed in 2019, an increase of 284% from 2018. The records exposed includes things like social security numbers, credit card numbers, financial accounts, passwords, names, and health information. You name it, it was probably exposed.

Seeing these numbers can lead to one believing it may be hopeless to protect the privacy of your employees, customers, and business. While it can be a tough battle, it is a necessary one.
