Cost of cyber-attacks for small business

The Better Business Bureau surveyed over 1,000 businesses in North America and found the average loss from a cyber-attack is just shy of $80,000 for small businesses. This shows the importance to prepare and plan for a cyber-attack, ensuring there is money budgeted towards prevention, detection, and remediation.

Being prepared for a cyber-attack and including an incident response plan within a small business’s business continuity plan is essential to surviving a cyber-attack. Having the ability to quickly recover and be operational as quickly as possible will help minimize the overall negative impact from a cyber-attack.
