Online Computer and Electronic Retailer Breached

Last week online retailer NewEgg disclosed they had a data breach. Customers who entered a form of payment between August 14 and September 18 potentially had their payment details stolen. NewEgg has not yet identified how many accounts are affected in total and which accounts specifically are associated with the breach.

Using third party retailers to buy business supplies is necessary to do business, but there are a few ways to protect the business purchasing information. Instead of using a credit card, look for alternative payment forms, like PayPal, Android Pay, or Apple Pay. Using these can add an extra layer of security because the credit card number will not be associated to the purchase.
